Chris West

We are honored to spotlight Chris West as one of our Hemby Heroes! Chris is a 13 year old living with Stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was diagnosed in June 2011 and has faced his cancer head on with no fear! Presbyterian Blume Clinic staff would describe Chris as intelligent, knowledgeable, witty, selfless, caring, and a sports fanatic!! When asked how this experience has changed him, Chris responded by saying that it has "made him more appreciative of life". The one thing he is looking forward to most after his treatment in complete is playing sports again! His favorite thing to do for fun is ANYTHING SPORTS RELATED. He enjoys watching basketball and playing baseball. When he receives treatments in the clinic he is glued to the XBOX 360. When he grows up he would either like to be a sports announcer or a salesman. In addition to all things sports related, he likes to read mystery books. He is one of four children in his family and noted that life would be pretty "boring" without them! Chris is truly a HERO in our eyes and an inspiration to us all.
